EAA 2025 Summer Camps

Learn To Fly Scholarship

Typically, Chapter 944 will offer several “Learn To Fly Scholarships” through out the year as funds become available.  There are two different types of scholarships that we may be available.: The “Ray Aviation Scholarship” is funded by the Ray Foundation Inc.  and “EAA Chapter 944 Learn To Fly Scholarship“. There are several differences, including value, age of applicant and previous completed flight training.  Download each application and read carefully for detail. Each applicant should email info@eaa944.org to verify availability of funds before starting the process. Chapter 944 Learn To Fly Scholarships are available only to individuals living  in counties covering our chapter membership (North Central Missouri).

In December, 2024, Chapter 944 selected four area youth to receive the Chapter’s Air Academy Scholarship. They will be spending approximately one week at EAA’s Air Academy this summer in Oshkosh Wisconsin. During this week, they will have an opportunity to learn about the world of aviation. Chapter 944 has been sending youth each summer to the Academy since 2012. The scholarship covers the cost of the application fee.

In 2026, Chapter 944 will once again be sending selected individuals to the 2026 Air Academy. We will start accepting application from around the first of May, 2025 until November 1st, 2025.  The individual applying must be between the age of 14 and 18, the first day of camp. Also, for the youth to receive Chapter 944’s Scholarship, they must submit our application (link will be posted on this website by early May, 2025) and submit it to the Chapter before November 1st, 2025.
